Since his arrival as Pyramids FC coach, Ihab Galal has recalled more players, including those like El-Sayed whom he already knows, as the team made several signings during the ongoing summer transfer window including Mahmoud Saber, Abdalla Magdi, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef and Hisham Mohamed.
The 30-year-old El-Sayed started his football career with Ahly, first appearing in 2010, before joining Maqassa in the 2012 season, where he first played under the coaching of Galal.
After rejoining Ahly in 2014, he joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittifaq on loan for one season in 2018 before playing for Tunisian team CS Sfaxien in the 2020 season, also on loan.
He then returned to the Egyptian league to join Talae El-Geish, only making five appearances with the military team last season. During this time he was also on loan to Ismaily, where he again played under Galal's coaching.
The veteran left-back is expected to fill in the gap in Egypt national team squad after joining Pyramids FC.
Pyramids FC named former Zamalek and Ismaily coach Ihab Galal to replace Greek coach Takis Gonias whose contract was terminated after less than three months spent leading the team.
Galal coached Maqassa for three seasons from 2014 to 2017, before spending some time with Enppi and Zamalek clubs during the 2017-18 season. He coached Masry from 2018 until 2020, before returning to Maqassa again, and then moving into Ismaily.
