Egypt to witness week of hot weather starting Monday: EMA

Egypt is expected to be hit with hot weather marked with a slight increase in temperatures starting Monday, according to Egypt's Meteorological Authority's (EMA) weekly update.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will witness hot weather during the daytimes, with highs ranging from 31-33 degrees celcius, and mild weather at night-times, with lows ranging from 20-21 degrees.

The country's north coast is expected to see warm weather, with highs of 27-29 degrees and lows of 20-22 degrees.

Egypt's south and South Sinai, the EMA added, are set to see extremely hot weather during daytimes with highs ranging from 37-42 degrees, and moderate weather during nights, with lows ranging from 20-25 degrees.

A 20 percent chance of light rainfall is forecast on the country's south, while a 40 percent chance of light to moderate rainfall is forecast on the country's north. A 30 percent of light rainfall is expected on the west coasts as well.

The meteorologists also forecast mist to engulf agricultural roads and highways close to waterbodies leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern areas, the cities of the Suez Canal, and Sinai.
