Egyptian jazz musician Yehya Khalil to put on two concerts in November

Egyptian jazz musician Yehya Khalil and his band will give his debut concert of the season at the Cairo Opera House on 24 November, two days before they perform in Alexandria on 26 November.

“I am thrilled that I will meet my great fans and friends,” stated Khalil, urging his fans to attend.

Yehya Khalil is expected to perform a selection of his favourite songs, including Crichendo, Hakawey El-Ahawy and Donia as well as some covers to Arab and western standards.

One of the pioneers of the jazz movement in Egypt, dubbed King of Jazz, Khalil received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Opera, and has played with many well-known international musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Ginger Baker, Jeff Bush and Eric Clapton, before returning to Egypt.
