The acclaimed producer, composer, and pianist will be exploring electronic styles of his evergreen pieces ‘Fire Dance’ and ‘Sultany’, as well as an instrumental version of ‘Raseeny’.

The highlights of the approaching concert will be new arrangments of Salama’s compositions for film soundtracks, like Omar El-Sherif’s ‘El-Mosafer’ and Mahmoud Hemida’s ‘Gannet Al-Shayaten.’

Salama will also play with a different formation this time, featuring accordionist Wael El-Sayed, bassist Karim Hossam, and percussionist Ayman Mabrouk, alongside table player Ramadan Mansour.

This is one of the rare concerts where Salama will perform without his buddy percussionist Ayman Sedky, who sustained a leg injury ahead of Shady Moanes’ Hekayat Band concert last month and has been undergoing rehabilitation for a few weeks.

The “Godfather” of many first-row underground bands and musicians, Salama — who played a vital role in shaping mainstream pop in the 1970s and 1980s — has paid special attention to developing traditional Islamic music since he formed Sharkiat in the 1980s.
