D-CAF (1-22 October)
Mon 18, 7-8.30pm (Online): “International Touring: Getting More Mileage from your Artistic Ideas without Travelling an Inch”, session is in English with live Arabic interpreter. In light of international travel restrictions and the ongoing climate crisis, identifying alternative models of touring work – for example translating a stage show to different media or licensing an idea to another company – is increasingly of interest to artists across the globe. This year, D-CAF has partnered with British cultural organization Farnham Maltings to present a workshop geared towards art practitioners wishing to bring their work to international audiences in this unprecedented global climate.
Farnham Maltings’ International Producers Hannah Slimmon and Sophia Victoria lead the organization’s international programme, supporting theater-makers, producers and art organizations to think and work internationally by providing training, opportunities and events that foster collaboration and understanding.
The session will present a series of case studies from international artists and organisations that will spark ideas and confidence to find new and creative ways to get your work out there, generate income and reach audiences from the world over. Facilitators are hosted by Victoria and Slimmon.
