Egypt's Masry held to draw in Confederation Cup in Chaabani debut

Ahram Online , Saturday 16 Oct 2021

Egypt’s Masry were held to a scoreless draw on Saturday against Revenue Authority of Uganda in the second preliminary round of the African Confederation Cup in the first official game of Tunisian coach Moine Chaabani.

Masry v Revenue Authority

Chaabani took over Masry in the summer, replacing Ali Maher, after a three-year spell at Tunisian giants Esperance where he won a host of titles including two African Champions League trophies.

Masry were the closest to victory but Amr Moussa missed a penalty kick in the 18th minute and Nigerian striker Austin Amutu missed with a header from inside the six yards with the goal at his mercy.

The Port-Said-based team would have to finish the job back home when they host the Ugandans on 24 October.
