Egypt’s Health Ministry reported on Friday in its daily coronavirus statement that 42 new deaths related to Covid-19 complications were recorded officially in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 17,926.

The statement added that 855 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 268,210

Earlier Saturday, the health ministry announced that a shipment of 1.6 million doses of Pfizer BioNTech Coronavirus vaccine arrived in Cairo.

Minister Hala Zayed stated also on the same day that Egypt's stock from coronavirus vaccine doses will increase to 70 million doses by the end of the month.
