Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily have denied reports they are interested in signing Ahly defender Ahmed El-Sayed during the summer transfer window.

El-Sayed has rejected a new contract with Ahly and will become a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.

"We respect El-Sayed but reports that we will sign him in the summer are just rumours," Ismaily's newly-appointed coach Sabry El-Meniawy was quoted as saying by the club's official website late Tuesday.

"We will only sign the players we need to fill specific positions for next season," he added.

Recent reports claimed Ahly's new coach Hossam El-Badry had asked the club to offload the 30-year-old defender El-Sayed which led him to refuse a new contract.
