Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Riccardo Muti to perform at Egypt's new capital

The Vienna Philharmonic orchestra will perform as part of the opening of the grand concert hall of the new opera house in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

The famed orchestra will give two concerts, on 20 November (invitations only) and on 21 November for an audience with tickets available at Ticketsmarche online platform.

The evening will include works by Schubert, Stravinsky, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Mozart.

The Vienna Philharmonic, founded in 1842 and considered one of the world’s greatest orchestras, last performed in Egypt in 1950, selling out shows in Cairo and Alexandria.

The orchestra will be conducted by Ricardo Muti, one of the biggest names in classical music worldwide. Muti is currently in charge of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini.
