Egypt's army chief-of-staff attends joint MEDUSA 11 naval drills in Greece

Chief-of-Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Osama Askar attended on Wednesday the main phase of the joint air and naval drills MEDUSA 11 between Egyptian, Greek, Cypriot and Emirati forces in Greece, said the Egyptian armed forces.

Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Cypriot Defense Minister Charalambos Petrides, and Chief-of-Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi attended the drills as well, according to an Egyptian army statement.

The main phase started with a detailed presentation on board the ENS Gamal Abdel-Nasser assault ship.

The troops also carried out various training activities, including launching aerial and artillery bombardments on hostile targets using multi-task aircraft and assault ships.
