Austrian classical music ensemble Trio Alba to perform in Cairo Opera House

Trio Alba — a renowned Austrian classical music ensemble — will be performing works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Friedrich Cerha, and Bedřich Smetana at the Cairo Opera House’s Open-Air Theatre on Wednesday 8 December.

“What to expect? A marvelous journey through the world of classical music with a brief, yet captivating detour to Austrian contemporary music,” stated the Austrian Cultural Forum that is organising the concert.

Known for their passionate playfulness and technical skills, Trio Alba includes cellist Philipp Comploi, pianist Chengcheng Zhao, and violinist Livia Sellin.

The concert’s programme will include Beethoven’s ‘Ghost’ (‘Geistertrio’), ‘Piano Trio’ in D major, ‘op. 70 No.1’, ‘Allegro Vivace E Con Brio’, ‘Largo Assai Ed espressivo’, and ‘Presto’.

They will also be playing Cerha’s ‘Night Piece’ (‘Nachtstück’) from ‘Piano Trio’ (2005) and Smetana’s ‘Piano Trio’ in G minor, ‘op. 15’, ‘Moderato Assai’, ‘Allegro’, ‘Ma Non Agitato - Alternativo I.’, ‘Andante - Alternativo II. Maestoso’, and ‘Finale – Presto.’

This is a free-entry event but requires a registration.
