The 27-year-old winger joined Ahly from Premier League side Brighton after penning a four-year contract with the Cairo giants last August.

Tau pulled off a perfect start with Ahly, scoring 5 goals in 6 appearances and receiving much admiration from the team’s fans as well as allowing the Reds to snatch an early lead on the league’s table.

“Ahly is a big team in Africa and the world, and I am happy to be part of this team; It’s a good chance for me to go on a new adventure in my football career,” Tau told Ahly TV channel on Wednesday.

“I faced no problems while trying to adapt to the team’s [rhythm], as my teammates helped me to become an influential member of the squad.”

“I can play in many positions on the frontline, as my target is always to score more goals,” Tau said.

“My dream was to wear Ahly’s jersey. Coach Pitso Mosimane helped me achieve this dream and he is pushing me to give my best performance.”

“Ahly fans always want to win all the trophies. So, we have to do our best to meet their expectations,” the South African star said.

Ahly are now leading the league’s table with a perfect 18 points, five points ahead of second-placed Zamalek.
