Egyptian giants Ahly will be looking to maintain their near perfect run in the African Super Cup when they meet Morocco's Raja Casablanca in Qatari capital Doha on Wednesday.

Ahly have only lost twice in nine appearances in the annual meeting of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup winners, clinching a record seven titles.

Raja won the competition twice, with their last triumph coming in 2019.

Ahly are enjoying a dream run in African competitions, having won two back-to-back Champions League crowns under South African coach Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane also led the Red Devils to last season's Super Cup title, which they won after beating Morocco's RS Berkane 2-0 in a game that also took place in Doha.

"We are going after all the possible trophies … but we are taking it one step at a time," said Ahly's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz.

"We have a fully fit squad available and the new signings have been already registered."

Ahly had doubts over the fitness of the likes of left-back Ayman Ashraf and goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi, both of whom were key members of the Egypt side that finished fourth at the FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar.

But both have been declared fit for the Super Cup game against Raja after recovering from their respective injuries.

Ahly last met Raja in 2005 in a Champions League group-stage clash that ended in a 1-1 draw.
