The 31-year-old's deal was due to expire at the end of the ongoing season.
“I am happy with extending my stay with Ahly as the negotiations didn’t need more time and I didn’t hastate to put pen to papers on the new contracts,” Maaloul was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
Maaloul has been one of Ahly's key players since joining from Tunisia's Sfaxien in the summer of 2016.
“My family is happy here in Egypt and appreciate Ahly’s fans eager to extend my stay,”
He has helped the club to claim 12 domestic and continental trophies including four Egyptian Premier League titles, Egypt Cup twice, Egyptian Super Cup two times, two African Champions League titles and two African Super Cup trophies.
The Tunisian international star made 177 appearances with the Red Devils, scoring 33 goals and provided 51 assists.
He is known for his forays down the flank and inviting crosses.
“I promise to do my best to meet the fans’ expectations,” Maaloul said.
Ahly are in the driving seat of the Egyptian Premier League teams’ table with 19 points as well as fighting to secure their 3rd CAF Champions League title in row.
The Red Devils will also compete in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup next February.
