El-Sisi and Lamamra said in a meeting in Cairo that the Arab region supports Saied’s measures and his efforts to “achieve stability” in the country, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
El-Sisi and Lamamra also discussed the situation in Libya, agreeing on the importance of achieving stability and security and preserving the sovereignty and unity of Libya and its national institutions to end the presence of foreign troops and mercenaries in Libya.
The Algerian foreign minister delivered to El-Sisi a letter from his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune, calling for further coordination and consultations to face multiple challenges in the region.
The meeting tackled means of cementing bilateral ties, with both El-Sisi and Lamamra agreeing on the importance of holding the upcoming session of the Joint Egyptian-Algerian Higher Committee on the level of foreign ministers to back efforts to boost partnerships and bolster coordination and cooperation in issues of common concern.
