Egypt condemned the recent Houthi "terrorist attacks" against Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated on Monday, hours after the two Gulf countries had destroyed ballistic missiles launched by the Yemeni militia.

The UAE said it intercepted two ballistic missiles targeting Abu Dhabi earlier today, a week after it had suffered a deadly attack that killed three civilians.

Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, said it downed a missile launched towards Dhahran Al-Janub.

Both Gulf countries reported no fatalities or injuries.

Egypt said the Houthi attacks were "cowardly," represent "a blatant" threat to the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and constitute "a grave" violation of international law.

Egypt reiterated its "full" support of all the Saudi and UAE measures to fend off Houthi attacks and preserve their security and stability, the foreign ministry’s statement continued.

The Houthis have been launching missiles against Saudi Arabia for almost seven years, since a Saudi-led coalition that includes the UAE intervened in the Yemeni civil war to fight the militia.

They also launched several attacks on the UAE.
