The match is underway

16:30 Queiroz made two changes to his formation bringing in Ayman Ashraf and Mohamed Abo Gabal instead of injured duo Hamdi Fathi Mohamed El Shennawi. Ashraf, a natural fullback, will provide an extra cover for left back Aboul Fotouh to counter Achraf Hakimi.

16:20 Players are warming up now

15:50 Starting lineups:

Egypt: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ahmed Hegazy, Ayman Ashraf, Omar Kamal, Ahmed Abou El Fotouh, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Amr El Soleya, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Salah, Mostafa Mohamed, Omar Marmoush

Morocco: Yassine Bounou, Achraf Hakimi, Romain Saiss, Nayef Aguerd, Adam Masina, Sofyan Amrabat, Ayman Barkok, Selim Amallah, Munir El-Haddadi, Youssef En Nesyri, Sofiane Boufal

15:30 "Lads, an outstanding team performance, rewarded with a deserved win. I can't be more proud of you. Now another game ahead, with another challenge for us to grow up and be better and better," Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz said after passing Cote d'Ivoire in round of 16.

15:15 The record seven-time African champions Egypt are seeking their first African Cup of Nations title since 2010, while rivals Morocco seek their second ever AFCON title after their sole one secured in 1976.

15:00 “The game will be like a tactical war. Egypt is an experienced team. Our attacking line suffered from some problems in the previous games, but I am confident that we will recover and become more effective as mistakes are not allowed in Sunday’s match,” the Bosnian coach said in the pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“Salah is a talented player but we have players who can stop him and halt his danger on the field,” the coach added about the Liverpool star winger.

“I will put the best plan and tactics to win and please all Moroccan fans,” he concluded.

14:00 In the pre-match press conference on Saturday, Morocco coach Vahid Halilhodzic said that his team is ready for the ‘tactical game’ against Egypt, insisting that the Atlas Lions are capable of stopping the danger of the Pharaohs’ talented skipper Mohamed Salah.

12:00 Egypt had a big history of games with Morocco as the two sides met 29 times; the Pharaohs claimed only 3 victories while Morocco snatched 14 victories and they drew in 12 games.

11:30 The North African rivals will meet in the quarter-final clash at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroonian capital Yaounde on Sunday, five years after meeting at the same stage in the Gabon edition. Back then, Egypt snatched a 1-0 victory to lay Moroccan ghosts to rest, albeit after surviving a barrage of attacks from their slick opponents. The late smash-and-grab victory was Egypt's first over Morocco in 31 years.

11:00 It's rather a straightforward task for Egypt: nullify Morocco's attacking threat to stand a good chance of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations semis.

Venue: Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo (Yaoundé)
