Scholz demands 'immediate signs' of de-escalation from Moscow

Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday pressed Russia to dial down pressure on Ukraine, warning that "any further military aggression" would have heavy consequences for Moscow.

"From Moscow, we are demanding immediate signs of deescalation," Scholz wrote on Twitter, just as he embarked on a trip to Kyiv ahead of a visit to the Kremlin on Tuesday.
