The 72-year-old, coach Toulan sprained his knee when he tried to monitor his players during the game at Alexandria stadium, according to Enppi’s football director.
“Toulan slipped and fell on his knee in the marble ground of Alexandria Stadium while instructing his players in the playground,” Mohamed told reporters after the game.
“The team returned to Cairo after the game but the coach went to scan’s center to determine the seriousness of his knee injury,” he added.
“I ask the administration of the Alexandria stadium to change the marble bench as it causes more effort for the teams’ substituted players and coaching staff while following their mission,” the Enppi’s football director said.
Enppi are in the 13th place in the Egyptian Premier League teams’ table with 10 points after playing 9 games so far this season, while Pharco FC are 5th with 15 points.
Toulan is expected to miss Enppi’s trainings within preparations for the game against Ittihad of Alexandria in the 10th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.
He is one of the most experienced coaches in the league, with multiple stints managing Cairo giants Zamalek in the past.
