Recently presented on ‘Sahebat El-Sa’ada’ TV show on DMC in mid-February, the programme includes numerous evergreen Shaaby songs from different eras.
The repertoire includes the iconic ‘Oyoon Baheya’ of Mohamed El-Azaby, ‘Meta Ashofak’ by Mohamed Roshdy, ‘Ediny Albak’ by Abdel-Baset Hamouda, ‘Telmeez El-Ostaz’ by Ramadan El-Brens, a Medly of Ahmed Adwaeya’s songs, and ‘Ala Warak El-Fol’ by Gamalat Shiha.
Formed two decades ago by members from the Cairo University Choir, Ayamna El-Helwa (‘Our Good Days’) combines tens of singers that frequently rotate their repertoires, introducing Egyptian classics of various genres; from patriotic to folk, romantic, social, and comedic.
The ensemble features some of the best instrumentalists in the country along with singers that are widely known for other artistic skills like acting and TV and radio presenting.
The concert’s formation is expected to feature at least 20 singers, including Salma Sabahi, Ahmed Ghazy, Asmaa Daghma, Khaled Halim, and Manar El-Shazly.
