Zamalek announced on Monday that the team’s midfielder Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed will be available for the club’s champions league clash against Wydad on Saturday after his COVID-19 test came back negative.

The international midfielder was sidelined from Zamalek’s goalless draw against Sagrada of Angola last Saturday after testing positive for the virus before the game.

The 26-year-old missed the team’s trip to Cairo due to the country’s measures preventing the departure of infected persons.

According to the club, the player will join the team in Morocco.

Zizo’s return will give coach Carteron a considerable boost before the team’s crucial clash against the Moroccan side.

Zamalek made a poor start in their group stage campaign after two frustrating draws against Angolan sides Petro Atletico 2-2 at home and Sargada 0-0 in Luanda respectively.

They lie third in the group with two points, two behind leaders Petro Atletico and one off second-placed Wydad.
