The announcement has been made one day after a wide controversy erupted by Diab’s fans in Egypt and the region, on the wake of the disappearance of his late albums on other streaming platforms like YouTube, Spotify and iTunes.

"I chose Anghami because it’s a global platform that is proudly showcasing Arab culture to the world. I share Anghami’s vision in developing strong local talent and making their voice heard globally,” stated Amr Diab in a press release expressing "excitement about the new venture”.

“This partnership doesn’t stop here – it is the beginning of a much bigger strategic collaboration with Anghami; together we will make some noise!” Amr Diab added.

The deal includes Amr Diab’s latest album he produced under Nay, not the earlier collaborations with other production company’s like Alam El-Fann and Delta Sounds.

With all of the new and upcoming releases of the top listened Arabic singer Amr Diab agreed to be only on Anghami, which claims to have 75 million registered subscribers, the music streaming market could see major influences.

Listed on top of almost all Arabs streams in all platforms since the start of the growing online streaming era in recent years, Amr Diab is Anghami’s Arabic top-listened artist of 2021 across all countries, with his album Ya Ana Ya La being the most streamed album of the year, while his earlier album, Sahran, came in third place.

Music platforms like YouTube, Spotify, iTunes and other global music streaming applications operating in the region, didn’t promote any notable exclusivity in their catalogue in the region, with competition originally based on usability, but Amr Diab’s deal with Anghami is likely to push game-changing promotional strategies in the market.

With over 30 albums and a huge collection of regional and international trophies and awards, El-Hadaba, as he's nicknamed by fans and on street billboards, has kept his wide fan-base growing throughout his four-decade career, transcending generations each season.

Staying consistently relevant since the 1980s, Amr Diab proves year after year that his music style is still commercially successful, attracting young audiences to his pop recipes even amid the dominance of Mahraganat and the rise of Trap music.

Founded in 2012, by Eddy Maroun and Elie Habib, was unveiled last year as becoming the first Arab technology company to list on NASDAQ.
