Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Thursday the finals dates of the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff.

Egypt

With participation of 54 CAF Member Associations, ten teams have reached the final round of the qualifiers and are in contention for the five African places at the prestigious world tournament.

“The first leg of the last round is scheduled for 25 March 2022, while the second leg matches will be held on 29 March 2022, four days later,” CAF said in a statement on their official website on Thursday.

Last February, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that the CAF agreed to delay the Pharaohs’ second leg away game with Senegal by 24 hours upon the visitors' request.

Egypt, who are seeking to qualify for the World Cup for the fourth time in their history, will host Senegal for the first leg on 25 March at Cairo International Stadium.

Both sides also clashed in the African Nations Cup final earlier this month, which Senegal won on penalties following a 0-0 draw.
