An offshoot of Vodafone Group, Vodacom acquired in November the group’s stake in Vodafone Egypt, comprising 55 percent of the company.
During the meeting which was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Telecommunications Amr Talaat, Telecomm Egypt (TE) CEO Adel Hamed, Vodafone Egypt CEO Mohamed Kamal, PM Madbouly stressed the importance of Vodacom’s plan to invest in Vodafone Egypt to achieve a quality service for citizens and to support the state’s digital transformation plane.
The Prime Minister also welcomed the contributions of Vodafone to the COP27 conference next November at Sharm El-Sheikh.
From his side, Vodacom CEO Mohamed Shameel Joosub stressed the importance of partnership relations with Egypt considering Egypt as one of the most important markets for his company .
Joosub added that his company would work on improving the quality of service it presents in Egypt.
Talaat reviewed during the meeting the current cooperation with Vodafone Egypt in several fields like the National Health Insurance project.
