Egyptian band El-Dor El-Awal to perform at El-Sawy Culturewheel

Egyptian band El-Dor El-Awal will be holding a concert in Cairo on Thursday 17 September at El-Sawy Culturewheel in Zamalek, where they will perform some of their original music.

El-Dor El-Awal will be playing some of their most popular songs, including ‘Raqs El-Hawanem’, ‘Rehla’, ‘Blue Hair’, ‘Iskanria’, and ‘Hawdag.’

Formed in 2003, El-Dor El-Awal (‘First Floor’) are known for their unique sound, which combines its members’ respective backgrounds with a traditional oriental foundation and jazz experience.

The band includes popular percussionists Bob and Mizo with their rich beats, combined with the tight electric bass provided by Ahmed Omar, Fady Badr on the qanun and keyboards, Mohammad Samy on violin, Nour Ashour on saxophone and mizmar, and Hisham Issam on the oud.

Their first album, ‘Qarar Izala’ (‘Decision to Demolish’), was released in 2006, while their second, ‘Aatareeq’ (‘On the Road’), came out in 2009.
