Ahly’s Maaloul, Zamalek's duo Jaziri, Mathlouthi called up for Tunisia-Mali World Cup playoff

Tunisia's coach Jalel Kadri revealed on Thursday his 28-man list for the Carthage Eagles' crunch showdown against Mali in the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff.

Ahly in-form left-back Ali Maaloul featured in the list, which also includes Zamalek striker Seifeddine Jaziri and right-back Hamza Mathlouthi.

The Tunisian squad also witnessed the appearance of former Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi, who is currently playing for Qatari side Al-Duhail SC.

Mali will host Tunisia in the first leg of World Cup qualifying playoff on 25 March 2022 at Stade du 26 mars Stadium. Tunisia will host the second leg game on 29 March 2022, four days later at Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi.

With participation of 54 CAF Member Associations, ten teams have reached the final round of the qualifiers and are in contention for the five African places at the prestigious world tournament.
