With Stuttgart trailing 2-1, Marmoush brought them level on 79 minutes with an exquisite free kick that he curled over the defensive wall and into the back of the net.

It was his first goal since he found the net in a 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin in December.

Marmoush also had a hand in a precious winner five minutes from time, with his attempted volley finding Tiago Tomas unmarked to rifle home.

The 23-year-old took his tally to three league goals in 17 appearances so far this season. He also provided four assists.

Marmoush is a key member of Egypt's squad under Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz. He took part in all seven games as the Pharaohs reached the African Nations Cup final in Cameroon last month before losing to Senegal on penalties.

Egypt and Senegal clash again in a two-legged World Cup qualifying playoff later this month. The first leg will be held in Cairo on 25 March, with the second taking place four days later in Dakar.
