Born in 1961 to prominent director Fateen Abdel-Wahab and iconic singer Laila Mourad, Abdel-Wahab graduated from the High Cinema Institute in 1983.
He worked as an assistant to a number of legendary directors, including Ali Badrakhan in ‘Ahl El-Qemma’ and Youssef Chahine in the ‘El-Youm El-Sadis’, which featured his debut as a film actor.
Abdel-Wahab starred in tens of films and TV works.
His filmography includes ‘Marsidis’, ‘El-Madina’, ‘Skoot, Hansawar’, ‘Ahl Cairo’, and ‘Baheb El-Cima’.
His TV works include 'El-Araaf', 'Esm Moaqqat’, ‘Ayoub’, and ‘El-Nehaya.’
He also wrote and directed a film titled ‘Romantica’ in 1996, which never saw the light of day.
His funeral will be held in El-Sayeda Nafisa Mosque in Cairo this afternoon.
