The Culture Ministry applies all precautionary and preventive measures with daily sterilization of the theatres in order to ensure the safety of the public, artists and workers.

 

The Cairo Puppet Theatre

Rehlat Al-Zaman Al-Gamil (A Journey to the Good Time), a children play about some children who travel to the Pharaonic era written by Yehia Zakaria, puppets and costumes by Nagui Shaker, décor by Mohamed Saad and directed by Mohamed Nour

Small Theatre 

Afrah Alqoba, play produced by the Youth Theatre Company is based on Naguib Mahfouz novel bearing the same name. It casts Abdel-Moneim Riyad, Mohamed Tamer, Samar Allam, Fatema Adel, Mena Nabil and many more. Décor and lighting by Amr Al-Ashraf, costumes designed by Abeer Badrawi, movement designs by Monadel Antar. It is written and directed by Mohamed Youssef Almansour 

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 7pm).

 

 

Malak Opera Theatre

Metropol (The Children’s National) Theatre

Beauty and the Beast, a play for children casts Bahaa Tharwat, Sayed Ragab, Hanaa Said, Ayman Beshay, Nashwa Hassan and many more, written by Nasser Mahmoud and directed by Mahmoud Hassan (Performances run daily, 7pm). 

 

 

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

Fi Entizar Baba (Waiting for Daddy) play is an adaptation of an ancient Greek Iliad poem of Homer with the application of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud’s analysis of the ‘Electra complex’, portraying mythical characters in a series of complicated situations. The play casts actors Samah Anwar, Ahmed Salama, Bouthaina Rashwan, Moufid Ashour, and many more, with music composed by Ahmed El-Nasser, choreography designed by Dia’a Shafiq, décor built up by Ehab El-Awamry, and directed by Samir El-Asfoury

(Performances run daily except Wednesdays, 9pm).

 

 

Rawabet Art Space

3 Hussien El Meaamar St. ext. of Mahmoud Basiouny St, from Talaat Harb Square, Downtown

Waiting for Gadallah, an Egyptian adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, performed by Kenoma Theatre Company, written by Ahmed Essam El-Shamaa and directed by Mustafa Khalil. The play tells the story of two characters waiting on the arrival of an individual and explores questions of human behavior and the perception of life as we know it and the uncertainties of it. 

It casts among others Ahmed Hani, Fareed, Summer Galal, 
Ahmed Radwan, Cherifa Hani, with Stage Manager/Assistant Director

Salah Abdel-Sabour Hall

Farida play, produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, starring Aida Fahmy is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play Swan Song, written and directed by Akram Mustafa. It is about an actress who recalls the ups and downs of her artistic journey    

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 6.30pm). 

Zaki Tolaimat Hall

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, play produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, is a novel by Victor Hugo. It features actors George Ashraf, Yehia Mahmoud, Mariam Al-Guindy, Heba Qenawy, décor by Hamdy Attia and costumes designed by Naaima Agamy, and directed by Nasser Abdel-Moneim

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 7.30pm).
