“I always choose the Champions league, as it has been my dream since I was a child. I won it once, and the feeling you get while walking in the city [Liverpool] after claiming it is amazing,” the 29-year-old player told beIN SPORTS TV channel on Wednesday.

Since joining the Reds in June 2017 from Italy’s AS Roma, Salah quickly proved himself, playing a key role in guiding his team to win the Champions League title in the 2018/19 season and the Premier League in the 2019/20 season.

“The city always wants the team to win the Premier League, and we already achieved it once. I always say winning both is a priority, but if you asked me to choose one, I would pick the Champions League,” the former Chelsea player added.

Salah, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot for the competition’s top scorer twice in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons is currently leading the scorers race this season with 20 goals in 32 Premier League appearances.

The star winger is also fourth in the scorers’ list of the current edition of the Champions League with eight goals — five behind top scorer Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.

Liverpool will be facing Benfica tonight in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
