"This club means a lot to me. I have enjoyed my football here more than anywhere. I gave the club everything and everybody saw that. I have had a lot of unbelievable moments, winning trophies, individual goals, individual trophies. It is like a family," Salah was quoted as saying on FourFourTwo.
When he was asked about the contract extension talks, Salah said “I do not know, I have one year left. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it is not... about the money at all,”
“So I do not know, I cannot tell you. I have one year left and the fans know what I want,” the Egyptian star added.
The 29-year-old Salah, who has 18 months left in his current five-year 52-million-euro deal with Liverpool, has been in talks with the club about an extension but has not yet received what he deems an acceptable offer.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Salah said that he is not asking for “crazy stuff” and wants to be appreciated for all he has done for the club.
“I am not worried, I do not let myself worry about something,” Salah said.
“The season has not finished yet, so let us finish it in the best possible way – that is the most important thing. Then in the last year, we are going to see what is going to happen,” the Liverpool star winger said.
The Egyptian international netted 155 goals in 245 games and provided 59 assists since he joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.
He has already claimed eight trophies with the Reds, including the UEFA Champions League title in the 2018/19 season as well as the 2020 English Premier League title, which had eluded the team since 1981.
Salah has become the second fastest Liverpool player to break the 150-goal mark, just behind Roger Hunt, who achieved that feat in 226 games.
