FM Shoukry discusses climate change, Ukraine with Canadian counterpart

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed in a telephone call the latest developments in Ukraine as well as regional issues with his Canadian counterpart Mélanie Joly on Wednesday.

According to Global Affairs Canada, Joly congratulated Egypt on assuming the presidency of UN Climate Change Conference COP27, of which Shoukry is the designated president. The two officials also discussed efforts to face climate change.

Egypt will host COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.

Shoukry and Joly also discussed promoting bilateral cooperation in various domains as well as the latest developments in regional and international issues.

Shoukry said Egypt looks forward to enhancing relations on all levels.
