Twenty-five people have been injured in the attack, which took place in the Middle Shabele region, southwest of Mogadishu, according to a Burundian army statement.
The terrorist group Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Egyptian foreign ministry said that Egypt as a government and people sends its sincere condolence to the government and people of Burundi and the families of the victims.
The ministry added that Egypt asserts its full solidarity with ATMIS in Somalia in facing all sorts of violence and terrorism, and completely supports the mission’s efforts to achieve stability in Somalia.
