Ahly smashed 10-man ES Setif of Algeria 4-0 in Cairo on Saturday, getting them that much closer to the prestigious tournament’s final for a record-extending 15th time.
“We didn’t qualify yet for the CAF Champions League final, as we will fly to Algeria for the second leg game,” Mosimane told reporters after the game.
“We have to respect the Algerian team, as we have seen teams claim a four-goal in the first leg and then conceding five goals in the second leg,” the Ahly coach added.
“ES Setif is a dangerous team, and they had more scoring chances during the first leg game, but we played well and fought to score more goals,” he concluded.
The Cairo giants are likely to qualify for a third consecutive final when they face Setif on their turf in the second leg next Saturday, as they seek to become the first team to win a hat-trick of straight Champions League crowns.
