Arab League chief mourns death of UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Arab League chief Ahmed Abul Gheit mourned on Friday the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan after a long life in the service of his country.

Sheikh Khalifa died earlier today at the age of 73.

Following the footsteps of his late father, Sheikh Khalifa always supported joint Arab action and rights, Abul Gheit said.

The UAE has remained a model of giving, and solidarity with the entire Arab world, Abul Gheit added.

He ordered the Arab League’s flag to be flown at half-mast for three days.
