“Lost Entrances” photo exhibition by photographer Leon Dubois and engineer and artist Mohamed Gohar.
Until 2022, the city of Alexandria represented two main eras: the old city with its submerged ruins, and the multi-ethnic city at the beginning of the twentieth century, which was characterized by the multiplicity of foreign communities. However, this picture is far from what it was recently, where today more than five million people live. In this artwork that combines drawings and images, Dubois and Gohar give us an example of Alexandria today, by depicting the residents and how they interact with the city (Thursday 19 May, free entry, 9pm).
