The Cairo giants extended a winless run to four games after being held to a goalless draw by NBE Club in an exciting Egyptian Premier League clash on Wednesday.

“We are in a different situation because we were always asked to win all the games,” Mosimane said at a press conference after the game.

Ahly struggled without their entire three-man midfield, with Hamdi Fathi, Amr El-Sulaya, and Malian Aliou Dieng skipping the match due to injuries.

“Ali Maaloul is not 100 percent fit and the midfield trio also suffer from injuries. Moreover, we lost Mohamed El-Shennawi’s services during the game,” the Ahly coach added.

“Taher told me that he couldn’t complete the game and Ahmed Abdel-Kader suffers from fatigue,” Mosimane said.

“All these situations are part of football. It is not that we are making excuses, but we have to do our best to return to winning ways in the domestic competition,” the South African coach said.

“I am not speaking about exhaustion, but about injuries, so with all those absentees, what can I do,” Mosimane asked.

Ahly, who still have several games in hand, are third in the teams’ table with 34 points, seven points behind leaders and title holders Zamalek, who played four games more.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face Enppi in the postponed game from the 15th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.
