Kahraba, who has struggled for form since joining Hatayspor on a six-month loan deal last January, finally opened his account on the final day of the Turkish league season as Hatayspor crushed Giresunspor 4-1.

He set up Ayoub El Kaabi and Bertug Ozgur Yildirim for the opening two goals either side of the interval before getting on the scoresheet himself six minutes past the hour mark.

The 28-year-old beat Giresunspor keeper Goktan Corut at his near post with a superb shot from the edge of the area to make it 3-1.

Kahraba made 12 appearances with Hatayspor in all competitions, scoring once and providing four assists.

Although he is now heading back to Ahly, it's not yet clear if South African coach Pitso Mosimane will include him in his plans for next season.

What makes his fate more complicated is that Kahraba should pay his ex-club Zamalek $2 million plus a 5 percent interest after being hit with a hefty fine by FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber in August 2020.

He was sanctioned for breaching his contract with Zamalek to join Portuguese club Rio Aves a year earlier. Kahraba risks being banned if he fails to pay the fine after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld FIFA's decision in March.

Ahly have not yet said whether they are ready to step in and pay on his behalf.
