Of recent, the Egypt international has seen more playing time and was integral to the Gunners' campaign to qualify for the Europa League next season after the team finished 5th in the table with 69 points.
Elneny put on a very convincing, superb performance in the last set of games of the Premier League, enticing Arsenal management to reportedly start negotiations with the Egyptian international to extend his contract, which expired as soon as the last whistle was blown on the Everton game.
The midfielder, who joined Arsenal from Swiss side Basel in January 2016, was close to joining Turkish giants Galatasaray last summer, but the English Premier League side refused the offer, according to Sky Sports.
Elneny has made 147 appearances with Arsenal in all competitions since his arrival, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists. He has played 17 games this season.
