Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane announced on Wednesday a 28-man squad for the team's anticipated clash against Wydad Casablanca in the Champions League final on 30 May.

Winners of the two past editions, the Cairo giants take on Wydad at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca as they eye an unprecedented hat-trick of straight triumphs.

The squad included long-term absentee Badr Benoun, who had been out for several months due to a heart inflammation that followed a COVID-19 infection, and his central defensive partner Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, even though both are unlikely to feature in the game.

Abdel-Moneim missed Ahly's last Egyptian Premier League game against Enppi due to a groin injury.

Midfield trio Aliou Dieng, Amr El-Sulaya and Hamdi Fathi will be available after recovering from their respective injuries, which kept them out of Ahly's past three games.
