A highlight of the evening was when she sang her iconic patriotic anthem ‘Enta Masry’ (‘You’re an Egyptian’), which was met with much applause and interaction from the audience.
“We created unforgettable memories last night,” 1983-born singer Ajram wrote on her social media accounts, adding: “Until next time, Cairo” in a photo-post that garnered thousands of reactions.
Showing exceptionally appealing talent since childhood, Ajram is among the most popular artists in the Middle East, and has risen to major heights of fame since her breakthrough debut ‘Akhasmak? Ah!’ (‘Give You the Silent Treatment? Yeah!’) in the early 2000s.
Since then, the multi-platinum recording artist has released over a dozen of successful albums as well as many singles and TV series themes.
Furthermore, Ajram’s fame goes beyond the region’s borders, with her song ‘Enta Eih?’ (‘What are you?’) being among the favourites of American multi Grammy Award winner young star Billie Eilish.
