The drills, which are being conducted in Saudi Arabia’s territorial waters, also include the participation of the naval and special forces of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Djibouti, Sudan, and Yemen.
The exercises are expected to continue for several days and will start off with a preparation phase that will include meetings and lectures to consolidate understanding between all units participating in the exercises.
Furthermore, the drills will involve the execution of joint planning activities along with managing naval combat work to exchange expertise between the forces involved.
Additionally, the Egyptian armed forces announced the commencement of the Egyptian-Saudi air forces’ Faisal-12 joint drills in Saudi Arabia as well.
The drills, which will run for several days, will include several activities, such as planning and managing joint air combat operations and carrying out a number of offensive and defensives sorties with the latest multi-mission fighters from both countries with the aim of unifying fighting concepts and exchanging expertise from both sides.
According to the Egyptian army, the joint exercises solidify the distinguished relations and military cooperation between Egypt and its brotherly allies.
