The message was published on the official website of COP27 Egypt launched on Tuesday to provide information on the UN event, which is slated to be held from 7 to 18 November in the Egyptian Red Sea city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
In his message, El-Sisi said Egypt, in its role as conference president, will spare no effort to ensure that COP27 becomes the moment when the world moved from negotiation to implementation and where words were translated to actions.
He noted that the hosting of COP27 in the green city of Sharm El-Sheikh this year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In the thirty years since, the world has come a long way in the fight against climate change and its negative impacts on the planet, the president added.
"We are now able to better understand the science behind climate change, better assess its impacts, and better develop tools to address its causes and consequences," he assured.
Egypt and its people look forward to welcoming you all at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, where we trust the world will come together, yet again, to reaffirm its commitment to the global climate agenda despite the difficulties and uncertainties of our time, El-Sisi added.
"I am positive that all parties and stakeholders will be coming to Sharm El-Sheikh with a stronger will and a higher ambition on mitigation, adaptation and climate finance, demonstrating actual success stories on implementing commitments and fulfilling pledges," he asserted.
El-Sisi added that the world came together in 2015 and showed the will to make the necessary compromises, which led to the successful adoption of the Paris Agreement.
He said that the world is once again called upon to act rapidly to meet the 1.5 degree goal, build resilience, and enhance capacity to adapt, especially in light of the unmistakable messages in the recent reports of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and following COP26 in Glasgow.
"And while these are no doubt major undertakings, I sincerely believe that they can also become opportunities for transformation towards sustainability if we collectively think creatively and demonstrate the necessary political will," he noted.
The newly launched website presented other three welcome messages from Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian prime minister and chair of COP27 Higher Committee; Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian minister of foreign affairs and president-designate of COP27; and Yasmine Fouad, Egyptian minister of environment and ministerial coordinator and envoy of COP27.
The website also outlines the country's vision on climate change and its strive to accelerate global climate action through emissions reduction, scaled-up adaptation efforts and enhanced flows of appropriate finance.
The platform also provides other information on the conference such as available accommodations and transportation.
According to the website, the UN event will be held at International Convention Centre in the coastal city.
