Sadio Mane has made another hint that he would leave Liverpool in the summer, saying on Friday that he would do what his fans back home wanted after being told that "60 to 70 percent" of Senegalese people would like him to depart.

The 30-year-old's current deal will run out in the summer of 2023 but widespread reports have recently linked him with a close-season move to Bayern Munich.

Mane said before Liverpool's 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last weekend that he would clarify his future after the game.

Speaking before Senegal play Benin in an African Cup of Nations qualifier, he said: "60-70 percent of Senegalese people want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will soon see."

Mane has been one of Liverpool's key players since joining from Southampton in the summer of 2016, helping the club to Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup titles among other minor accolades.

Last season, he scored 23 goals and provided five others in all competitions as Liverpool won the domestic League Cup and FA Cup titles, although they lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid and finished as runners-up behind Manchester City in the Premier League.

Mane's club teammate Mohamed Salah, whose contract also expires in the summer of 2023, confirmed recently that he would stay at Liverpool next season, although he has yet to agree on a new deal with the Reds.
