Zamalek have started talks with Algerian forward Hadj Aissa over a possible move in the current transfer window.
According to Algerian newspaper Al-Nahar, Aissa, who played for Kuwaiti side Al-Qadesseya last season, has accepted a one-year contract but has demanded $500,000 to complete the deal.
The 27-year-old player has a strong reputation on the Arab scene, after helping his former side ES Setif (Algeria) to gain two successive Arab Champions league titles in 2007 and 2008.
He also helped his Kuwaiti side to win the double, Kuwait's League and Cup, last season.
Aissa's contract with the Al-Qadesseya will expire in August.
Zamalek are looking for a replacement for the team's forward Mahmoud 'Shikabala' Abdel-Razek, excluded from the team's squad since his touchline altercation with coach Hassan Shehata during Zamalek's 2-0 win over Maghreb Fes last May.
Zamalek will launch their CAF Champions' League campaign next Saturday with an away game against Ghana's Chelsea.
