Pharaohs’ coach Ehab Galal announced on Monday that he is working with his players so that they may put on a superb performance in the friendly against South Korea and show their true value and talents.

“We are working to introduce an organised plan as well as recalling the soul of the Pharaohs in the friendly against South Korea,” Galal said in the pre-game press conference.

“We will show the value of Egyptian players, as we want to put on a superb performance that suits the people of the two countries,” he added.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to play a friendly against South Korea in Seoul on Tuesday as part of the latter’s preparations for the 2022 World Cup games.

Egypt is in dire straits after central midfield duo Hamdi Fathi and Emam Ashour were ruled out of the coming match due to being injured.

The national team has also had to do without Arsenal’s central midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who sat out the Group D matches for the same reason.

Aston Villa’s Mahmoud Trezeguet will also be unavailable in the upcoming friendly.

“We are suffering from an absence of a number of key-players, but we still have a lot of big players in our squad,” Galal said.

Under the helm of Galal, Egypt will be looking for a morale-boosting win against South Korea after a disastrous display against Ethiopia in which the Pharaohs lost 2-0 away from home in the 2023 African Cup of Nations’ qualifiers last week.

“Korea is a big and organised team that I expect will achieve brilliant results in the 2022 World Cup, as they have a number of great players ledby Tottenham’s star Son Heung-min,” the coach added.

South Korea are in Group H of the 2022 World Cup alongside Ghana, Portugal, and Uruguay.

They will be starting off their mission in the prestigious tournament against Uruguay on 24 November.
