The match is underway

Starting line-ups:

Ahly: Mohamed El-Shennawi, Mohamed Hani, Yasser Ibrahim, Rami Rabia, Ali Maaloul, Hamdi Fathi, Amr El-Sulaya, Ahmed Abdel-Kader, Percy Tau, Magdi Afsha, Mohamed Sherif

Zamalek: Mohamed Awad, Mahmoud El-Wensh, Mohamed Abdel-Ghani, Mohamed Abdel-Shafi, Mohamed Ashraf, Emam Ashour, Abdallah Gomaa, Sayed Abdallah, Ahmed Zizo, Achraf Bencharki, Omar El-Said

19:05 Ahly play with Mohamed Sherif as a lone striker, supported by three attacking midfielders in Ahmed Abdel-Kader, Magdi Afsha and Percy Tau.

19:00 Zamalek play with a 3-4-3 formation that features youngster Sayed Abdallah as a right wing-back and Abdel-Shafi as one of three central defenders.

18:35 Ahly confirmed that Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng and left-back Ayman Ashraf have not passed a fitness test and will thus miss tonight's derby.

18:30 Ahly's caretaker coach Sami Komsan is unlikely to make any surprises in his selection, especially following the return from injury of several key players.

17:30 Zamalek coach Ferreira is likely to deploy a much-changed line-up due to the absences. He is expected to introduce a 3-4-3 formation, with veteran left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi playing alongside central defenders Mahmoud El-Wensh and Mohamed Abdel-Ghani at the back.

16:25 Zamalek will be missing right-backs, Hazem Emam and Tunisian Hamza Mathlouthi. Also midfield key star Tarek Hamed won't be available due to injury, meanwhile defender Mahmoud Alaa is out due to automatic suspension. Defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghani is ready to boost the team's defence line.

16:05 Coach Komsan received some good news as the Reds were boosted by the return from injury of several key players ahead of the game, including Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul and midfield duo Amr El-Sulaya and Hamdi Fathi.

16:00 Ahly will be missing the services of central defender Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, who was a key member of an Egypt side that reached the African Nations Cup final earlier this year. There are also doubts over the fitness of Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng.

15:40 In their last game on Monday, Zamalek needed an extra time to reach Egypt Cup last 16 with a 2-1 win over second-division side Dakhleya after producing another humble performance.

15:00 Ferreira also is struggling to fill some gaps as Zamalek is suffering from shortage of options after being hit with a FIFA transfer ban last summer.

13:55 On the other side, Zamalek is suffering from some problems too after some shaky performances this term, despite the arrival of veteran Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira, who led them to a rare domestic double in 2015.

13:15 After 22 games of the domestic competition, Zamalek lead the league table with 44 points from 20 matches, one point behind second-placed Pyaramids FC who played one game more. Ahly is in third place with 40 points, but from 17 matches played so far.

12:45 Last November, Ahly defeated Zamalek 5-3 in the first round of the domestic competition at Cairo's International Stadium without fans.

12:15 "Leading Ahly for even one game is a big honour and a big responsibility on my shoulders, but my entire focus is on successfully passing this important period," Komsan said.

11:45 Under the guidance of interim coach Sami Komsan, who was Mosimane's assistant, Ahly secured a convincing victory, crushing bottom side Eastern Company 4-1 for their second straight Egyptian Premier League win on Wednesday.

11:00 A victory on Sunday will put Ahly in pole position to restore the Egyptian Premier League title back from holders Zamalek

10:50 Mosimane surprisingly left the club by mutual consent on Monday after a highly-successful 20-month spell, in which the club won two back-to-back African Champions League crowns, one Egypt Cup and two Club World Cup bronze medals among other minor accolades.

10:30 Ahly will face their archrivals Zamalek in the Cairo derby at Al-Salam Stadium on Sunday, in the first real test for the Reds after the recent departure of their South African coach Pitso Mosimane.
