Cleopatra ballet

21-24 June, 8pm: Cairo Opera House, main hall, Zamalek
The performance which premiered in 2019 is staged by the Cairo Opera Ballet Company and the Cairo Opera Orchestra conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha who also composed the music. Directed by Armenia Kamel, the ballet's plotline revolves around the famed love story between Cleopatra and Mark Antony.

Dawar Arts Festival

22-25 June: Dawar Arts
16 Adly, El-Fawalah, Abdeen, Cairo
The first edition of the festival will feature talks, workshops, theatre, and music, alongside film screenings reflecting on Dawar’s journey of wellbeing, community development, and how art has contributed to that.

Italian Cinema

Wednesday 22 June – 5 July
Cinema Zawya, Odeon Cinema, 15 Emad El-Deen St, Cairo Downtown
For two weeks, Zawya will be showing a diverse selection of recent Italian productions as well as an homage to the radical artist, poet, and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini on the occasion of his 100th birthday.

After being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims.

Egyptian premiere of Elvis (2022)

The biographical drama explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). 
The film stars Tom Hanks, Helen Thomson, Olivia DeJonge, and Austin Butler

Oud player Hazem Shaheen and his band

Thursday 23 June, 8pm
Rawabet Art Space, 3 Hussein Basha El-Meamari, Kasr El-Nil, Cairo
Hazem Shaheen is an Alexandrian oud player, singer, composer, and founder of Eskendrella.
In Rawabet Art Space, Shaheen will present his instrumental compositions as well as his version of unforgettable classics.
The concert will also feature Andre Segone (bass), Ayman Mabrouk (percussions), Mohamed Sawwah (trumpet), and Mohamed Abdallah (piano).

Netflix premiere of The Man from Toronto (2022)

Friday 24 June
The comedy thriller follows the world’s deadliest assassin and New York’s biggest screw-up, who are mistaken for each other at an Airbnb rental.
Directed by Patrick Hughes, the film stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, along with Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, among others.
