Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has included four new players in the team's squad for the African Champions League.
Defender Saad Samir, goalie Mahmoud Abou El-Saoud and new arrivals Ahmed Seddik and Oussou Konan have all been added to the roster ahead of the team's opening group-stage game against TP Mazembe of DR Congo in Cairo on Sunday.
“We still have some positions that l need to fill but I have registered those who we need for now," El-Badry, 52, told CAF's official website.
"We signed Ivorian striker Ousso Konan who is a talented and strong striker. Also the right back Ahmed Seddik returned to the team, and we registered the youngster Mahmoud Hassan who is a talented midfielder and was awesome in the friendly matches. We still try to sign other players before the registration deadline,” he added.
Along with Mazembe, the six-time title winners have been drawn up in Group B with archrivals Zamalek and Ghana’s Chelsea. They will play behind closed doors because of security concerns.
