Agent of Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri announced on Sunday that his client will stay with Zamalek despite speculation about the player’s future, saying he met with the club’s management and that they showed interest in extending his stay.

The 29-year-old attacker put on a superb performance with the Cairo giants in the 2-1 win over NBE Club in the Egyptian Premier League last week, scoring the two goals that won the match when he was subbed-in at the 64th minute.

“There was a misunderstanding between the player and Zamalek’s management, so we held a meeting with the team’s football director, Amir Mortada Mansour, who confirmed his eagerness to extend the player’s stay,” Jaziri’s agent Alaa Abaza told a television programme early on Sunday.

“The meeting discussed the player’s performance during against NBE Club and how it won Zamalek the game, so, Jaziri will stay with the club,” the player’s agent said.

Reports in Egyptian media claimed the Tunisian star would move to a club in the gulf, however, the player’s agent denied any official talks.

“There were some offers from gulf clubs, but none of them were official, as no team sent an official request to Zamalek asking for the player’s services,” Abaza added.

“We lodged a complaint against Zamalek last January due to a delay in receiving the player’s salary, however, we withdrew it after reaching an agreement with the club’s management,” the agent added.

Jaziri spent last season on loan at Zamalek from Arab Contractors before the Whites made the move permanent last summer, handing him a three-year contract until 2024.

He has made 45 appearances with Zamalek since joining the club, scoring six goals and providing ten assists so far.

Egyptian Premier League title holders Zamalek are in the driving seat of the teams’ table with 48 points, four points over rivals Ahly, who still have three games in hand.
